We are proud to offer both transit and self-propelled wheelchairs for our customers.
Transit Wheelchairs, often referred to as "Assisted" and are designed for people who require the assistance of a carer or family member.
All of our wheelchairs are aluminium, making them as light as possible and are also equipped with attendant brakes.
Self-propelled wheelchairs have a larger rear wheel with handles attached. These handles allow the occupant of the chair to move themselves about freely, without the need for anyone to push them. They do also have handles at the rear to allow assistance from a carer or relative.
All our self propelled wheelchairs are equipped with brakes and are made of aluminium to ensure they are as lightweight as possible.
These are often preferred as even if the individual is not looking at pushing themselves, the larger wheels make for a much more comfortable experience.
Powerpacks can make a very useful and often needed addition to a wheelchair. They help to assist the person in control of the chair so that they no longer have to push the weight of the chair but purely direct it, as the power pack does all of the work for them.
A powerpack can be mounted onto the majority of wheelchairs using a universal fitting which can be easily removed for both travel and storage. The average powerpack weighs 6kg making them easy to dismantle, with the battery pack having easy removal for charging purposes.
There are a variety of options available to suit you, with packs doing approximately 10 miles on a full charge. They travel up to 4mph (similarly to a class 2 scooter) and are capable of carrying from 18 to 32 stone in weight depending on which one you opt for.
